Congressional Academy Day supported by Marietta Air Museum Cadet Squadron members

Local members support 16th annual congressional event for the community’s future leaders.

Members of Marietta Air Museum Cadet Squadron joined members of Cobb County Composite Squadron, Dekalb Cadet Squadron and Athens Composite Squadron to support the 1,000+ Georgians attending Georgia’s U.S. Congressional Academy Day at Dobbins ARB on Saturday. Prospective future Academy cadets were able to meet Senator Johnny Isaakson and Congressman Barry Loudermilk and visit with recruiters and in some cases current Academy cadets, including the Squadron Commander of 23rdSquadron at the United States Air Force Academy.

CAP members also got to meet many of the prospective cadets and their families while manning a CAP recruiting booth.  Members also assisted the Air Force Security Forces in parking the 420+ vehicles while other members toured families through one of our Cessnas.

For any that are interested in applying to any one or more of the five Service Academies, the deadline for applying through Senator Isaakson’s office for the 2019 entering class is 3 October 2018.  Due to the nature of the stringent requirements, this is a deadline that must be observed, so plan accordingly and good luck!
